# Conditions of congruence of triangles

Definition of congruence: If two figures exactly cover each other then they are called congruent.

Definition of congruence of triangles: If a triangle when placed on another, exactly covers the other, the triangles are congruent.

# Two triangles will be congruence if –

Side Angle Side( SAS): If two pairs of sides of two triangles are equal in length, and the included angles are equal in measurement, then the triangles are congruent.

Side Side Side(SSS): If three pairs of sides of two triangles are equal in length, then the triangles are congruent.

Angle Side Angle(ASA): If two pairs of angles of two triangles are equal in measurement, and the included sides are equal in length, then the triangles are congruent.

Angle Angle Side (AAS): If two pairs of angles of two triangles are equal in measurement, and a pair of corresponding non-included sides are equal in length, then the triangles are congruent.

Right angle Hypotenuse Side (RHS), also known as HL (Hypotenuse-Leg): If two right angled triangles have their hypotenuses equal in length, and a pair of shorter sides are equal in length, then the triangles are congruent.
